The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and the University of Indianapolis Music Department join in collaboration to present Beethoven’s inspiring masterpiece, the Ninth Symphony. This true icon of Western music will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9. This tour-de-force, famous for its inclusion of Friedrich Schiller’s “Ode to Joy,” has been described as “one of the highest achievements of man, ranking alongside Shakespeare’s Hamlet and King Lear.” The combined choirs at the University of Indianapolis, prepared by Dr. Paul Krasnovsky, along with UIndy faculty soloists and guest Thomas Scurich, join Maestro Kirk Trevor and the ICO to present this timeless work to Indiana audiences.
